  • Alison Holt LMHC

Alison Holt, LMHC Counseling & Consulting

Hi, I’m Alison! I have been working with children and families for many years and one thing I’ve noticed with almost all of my families is that there was a point at which things shifted and they lost connection with each other. My job is to help you figure out what happened and how to heal as individuals and as a family.

Though I work with children of all ages, I am especially passionate about working with teens and pre-teens. These are some of the most exciting and transformative years of a child’s life, and also some of the most stressful. This also tends to be one of the most strained times in the parent-child relationship. When working with teens, I take a two-pronged approach that involves helping parents better understand their teens and helping teens better understand themselves. When this is achieved, teens and parents can begin to heal…together.

While my specialty is working with children, I also have a passion for helping parents heal so they can be as healthy as possible, not only for their kids, but for themselves. As I like to say: healthy, happy parents, lead to healthier and happier kids.

FAQs

Is help with credentialing and billing offered for joining professionals?

Yes. Although we will not submit your credentialing or bill for you, we do offer consultation and education to review your applications and documents for credentialing if you choose to submit them yourself. We will offer education and guidance on billing codes, issues, and education in addressing billing problems to resolve them on your own if this is how you choose to manage your practice. This may include prior authorizations, how to access out of network benefits of a plan, and how to dispute a claim review decision.

What does professional consultation look like?

Twice monthly up to a 90 minute group consultation session will be offered for those who are available and want to participate. This is available to all members and may be accessed in person or virtually. If you are onsite, you are expected to participate in person. Individual consultation is available, and if with one of the other therapists in the collaborative, may have additional cost.

I need help with business management and marketing, is this something offered?

Coaching and consultation related to business operations specific to healthcare and wellness is available. This may be offered from one of our very experienced and seasoned practitioners to professionals we may bring in for occasional trainings and support for the membership group.

I’m not sure what option I may need, can I change or upgrade once joining?

Yes. If you enter under a community or hot desk membership and a suite becomes available, you may request to be considered for the space at any time. We do have a wait-list for suites, so this will be based on need and who has priority. Members have priority to be considered over non-members. If you are accessing a private suite and want to downgrade due to circumstance or career changes, this is also an option so long as it follows the terms of the signed agreement for giving notice. We understand life happens, and things change and we want to support the transition and option that best supports you.

What happens if insurance billing and payments are delayed (i.e.- Recent ChangeHealthcare breech), will my membership be cancelled?

Running The Collaborative is a business. So we expect our professionals to pay their fees timely. However, if an unforeseen circumstance does present and it does not appear to be a long-term or ongoing issue, options are available to work out arrangements to prevent membership from lapsing. We know that funding from insurance can be a challenge when first starting or when things beyond our control happen like the recent security breech. Starting your own practice is intimidating and these are often the worries that prevent therapists and professionals for making the leap. We will work with you to avoid any major disruptions to you and your clients.

I need CEU’s, do you offer formal training?

Although we won’t offer formal training that are registered for CE credit, we will connect opportunities for the membership community that can and may offer these to help in maintaining licensing and best ethical practice.
